The kasumi-zakura (Prunus verecunda) is a cherry tree that grows wild, its distribution centered on the Hidaka district in Hokkaido. Nara’s prefectural website lists the official flower as the Nara yae zakura (Prunus verecunda cultivar). This appears to be a cultivated variety of kasumi-zakura.
