Kagawa’s Prefectural Tree

Olive

Kagawa chose the olive, which was introduced from the Mediterranean and first planted in Kagawa, Kagoshima and Mie in 1901. Its blossom was adopted as Kagawa’s prefectural flower in 1955, and it was designated the official tree on September 10, 1966.
