Hiroshima’s Prefectural Tree

Japanese maple

Hiroshima, Shiga and Yamanashi all chose the Japanese maple as their official prefectural flowers, but Hiroshima also named it the official tree. The beautiful tree is found throughout Hiroshima, adding splashes of color to many famous places known for their scenic beauty.

The Japanese maple was adopted on September 12, 1966.
